Appointments

Appointments

I am currently offering on-line 'Zoom' Video-Call appointments. I am also offering mobile appointments (in your own home) for regular clients who have paid for a course of sessions.

I always recommend booking a series of Holistic Therapy sessions as this is the best way to achieve long-lasting results, especially if we are dealing with severe, ongoing, and/ or chronic issues. I recommend that new clients book a course of sessions and see me as often as possible (ideally 2-4 times a week) initially. This enables your body to hold onto any changes we make – thus promoting speedier, long-term progress.

As a Prospective Client, your first step is to book an Initial Consultation appointment with me.

P.N. If appointments are missed, forgotten, or cancelled with less than 48 hours notice they will be charged for.

What an initial consultation involves:

• Discuss your medical and emotional history
• Assess your life today
• Discuss how you wish to feel in 3, 6, 9 and 12 months’ time
• Develop a plan to help you achieve your goal
• Discuss the frequency of holistic therapy sessions required
• Agree things you can do between sessions (homework) to support your body and general well-being

What a holistic massage involves:

• My hands ‘greet’ your body – helping you to feel at ease and comfortable
• We start the relaxation process
• You begin to feel safe and secure, calm and cared for
• I carry out a general assessment of your muscular structure
• I gently explore the top layer of your muscles
• Your feedback is encouraged regarding the depth and strength of massage pressure that you are comfortable with
• I encourage you to totally relax, enabling stress to float away from both your mind and body
• Towards the end of the session I encourage you to return quietly to the here and now
• You feel refreshed and relaxed
• We exchange feedback and discuss any ideas for things you can do in between sessions (homework)

During a series of sessions we will:

• Discuss the effects of your last holistic therapy appointment
• Monitor your physical and emotional changes
• Assess the frequency of your sessions

Top tips before your appointments

• Avoid alcohol the night before
• If possible, have a shower to clear and open your skin’s pores to help the massage oil to be absorbed (avoid using moisturising creams after your shower)
• Arrive early, allowing yourself 10 – 15 minutes for a short walk to quieten and clear your mind and relax
• If you’re rushing, or late, just stop for a moment and take a few slow deep breaths to help you relax

Top tips after your appointments

• Drink plenty of water
• Take it easy for the next few hours
• Note down any feelings, physical or emotional you may experience to feedback at our next session
• Learn to listen to your body – pain is your body’s way of telling you not to carry on with a certain activity
• Regularly stop what you are doing and take 3 slow, deep breaths
